Hot enough for you?

We are rapidly approaching that time of the year. If we’re not there yet. Summer might not be here, but summer-like temperatures don’t care. They show up whenever they feel like it. Which has been more frequent lately. Leading some people to ask, “Hot enough for you?”

Well, it could have been. That is, if you were living in Death Valley, California, on July 10, 1913. The temperature reached a whopping 134 degrees Fahrenheit that day. That is a new record. New, because the old record was 136.4 degrees in El Azizia, Libya. Say what? The new record is lower than the old record? Yup. The reason? The World Meteorological Organization overturned the old record, which had been thought dubious for a while.
